However, a prophecy was given after this happened.
The generations to come would each harbor a secret meant only for the seventh generation to hear and know.
Alas, in the sixth generation, an evil was released upon the land of Chotoma; Ragnarok. The end of all ends.
The beasts of Ragnarok located the Zolans while ransacking the town of Dern.
Four of the Zolans survived this encounter.
Blade was killed in battle as a mercenary guard for Feignland.
Ren lost himself, and went out into the Hëimland Mountains after he married Mirabelle Dictu. His fate is unknown.
Sarah passed away during childbirth. The child died as well.
The fate of Amanda is unknown.
Ren sired Rey, the eldest of the two brothers in the seventh generation, and Geoff, the learning warrior.
Rey is 19, and has a slim build, with little muscle. He stands at about 6'0", with black hair, startling green eyes, and slightly pointed ears. He is agile, and his aim with a bow is deadly accurate. Rey's magic is strong, as he studies it like an art. In melee fighting, Rey strikes quickly, but his attacks are weak, and he lacks any real power.
Geoff is 18, and is the more burly of the two. He stands at 6'1", has black hair and icy blue eyes, and has a full face. He has a tendency to flirt with the ladies, and often gets into trouble with men of the towns he travels in. While slower and less accurate than his brother, Geoff strikes true with his blade, and with force. He is deadly in melee fighting, and fairs well in archery. Magic is lost on Geoff, as he does not have time to practice it.
Without any Zolans around that know the prophecy, Geoff and Rey know nothing about their destiny.
"...And in the time of the great Ragnarok, there shall sound a Seventh Trumpet, which will call forth the heroes and peasants in the land and unite them. Kings will bow before the Trumpeter, legions will harken to it's battle calls, and the creatures of Ragnarok will tremble and flee. But when they flee, the great Master shall come forth from the shadows, and take command of Ragnarok. He will wage war across the land, wreaking destruction and havoc upon the land. The Trumpeter will march quietly to the temple of blood, where he will greet the Master of the Shadows, and cast him down while atop a pillar surrounded by the molten bowels of the Earth. Thus is the fate of..."
"...That's it." Rey would say solemnly as he folds up the burnt parchment.
"That's it? That can't be it! It doesn't say who! What! When!" Geoff would exclaim, throwing down his battleaxe and helmet. "By the Great Seers' beard, we came all the way out here for nothing! Curse it all! I'm going home!" In a rage, he turns and kicks down the half-burned door to the Temple of Chaos. It falls in with a snap and a resounding thud, and a cloud of soot stirs, sending Geoff into a coughing fit.
"Take it easy, brother. That door did you no harm," Rey would calmly say, while resolving not to bring him the next time that he went searching for the relics that the Old Man had sent them to look for.
"I'm sorry. It's just that we're in a blood splattered chapel filled with bones. The roof is caving in, and we're standing on a quaking cliff that is surrounded by magma below. It's dark, hot, and I swear that I can see the souls of forgotten warriors roaming outside." Geoff would reply, sighing.
Just as he finishes his sentence, the ground gives a shudder, powerful enough to knock the pair down, and cause what remains of the ceiling to collapse and send more soot flying. An extremely loud cracking sound sounds, and lasts for about a minute.

The pair stands up while the quaking continues, and investigates the
earsplitting cracking they are hearing. As they leave the Chapel, they
see the land bridge connecting the cliff to the rest of the Dem'rakh Sul
shift, and fall, crashing into the magma below. Geoff begins to panic,
but Rey silences him with a finger, and then listens as the ground stops
shuddering and the cracking sounds echo away. A low, deep growl seems
to be emanating from the Chapel behind them. They both turn slowly
around, and look at the Chapel. Blackness has engulfed the Chapel floor,
and shadows pour out of the ground like a fountain, spraying up into
the sky, and splashing back into the darkness, only to be poured out
again. Out of the blackness, two tendrils, black with a purple aura
emanating around them, reach out and ensnare the brothers in their
grasp. Without hesitation, it pulls the brothers in, and they vanish
from the world of the living.

Even with all these mysterious things happening, our two unassuming heroes don't know anything about their past, nor their future. They do not know that the Trumpeter is one of them.
